In Septemeber 2008, I traveled 6000 miles to Haiti's Kenscoff mountains. My mission: to care for some of the orphaned and abandoned, the sick, malnourished and premature infants of this beautiful but beleagured Caribbean nation.

A Non-Endorsement

It seems that a few individuals are using blogs I wrote and photographs I posted during my time in Haiti, to raise money for charities that they claim to work for. At least one of these individuals is acting fraudulently. I haven't given anyone permission to use my blog posts to help raise money for any charity or charitable work. I do not currently endorse the work of ANY orphanage in Haiti, including the one I worked at. I cannot do so until I witness some excellent and ethical adoption and child care practices along with  financial transparency, first hand. I would encourage generous donors, especially christian donors to carefully and prayerfully consider where they sow their financial seed.

Susan, I came across your blog years ago, because I was interested in GLA. I would very much like to know why you no long promote GLA or orphanages in Haiti.
Since I was about 15, GLA has been on my heart, I believe by God because it's a desire that didn't go away in spite of time and changing priorities through the years. But I have felt a check in my spirit regarding it since the uncertain ending of your time there and your blog.
I would very much appreciate it if you would be willing to contact me and explain your behind-the-scenes perspective.
God has given me limited resources, both with my life and my money and I so desperately want to use them wisely and in the best possible way. Thus my desire to know more of the what is behind your cryptic words.

Thank-you,
